Igloo Expands Recall of 1.2 Million Coolers After Reports of Amputations and Serious Injuries
Igloo Products Corp. has expanded its recall of the 90 Qt. Flip & Tow Rolling Coolers after nearly 80 reports of injuries, including 26 incidents involving fingertip amputations, bone fractures, and lacerations. If you or a loved one suffered an injury from one of these recalled products, you may be entitled to compensation.
The expanded recall affects more than 1.2 million units and follows increasing concern from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), which advises consumers to immediately stop using the affected coolers due to a serious pinching hazard posed by the tow handle mechanism.
What’s Being Recalled?
The recall applies to Igloo 90 Qt. Flip & Tow Rolling Coolers, sold between 2019 and January 2025 at major retailers including Costco, Target, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and Amazon, for prices ranging from $80 to $140. The coolers were manufactured in the United States prior to January 2024 and are marked with “IGLOO” on the side.
The hazard stems from a design flaw that allows the tow handle to pinch the user’s fingers against the cooler body, potentially causing severe crush injuries or amputations.

- 34692 – LATITUDE 90 QT ROLLER – 07/2020–09/2021
- 34785- LATITUDE 90 QT ROLLER – 10/2021–12/2022
- 34790 – MAXCOLD LATITUDE 90 QT ROLLER – 10/2021–02/2023
